WINE and Freedom and Empowerment

Not every educated woman is empowered or confident enough to work independently or shine in their career. W.I.N.E (Women’s Initiative to network for Empowerment), instituted by BNI (Business Network International) was one such event that aimed to encourage and empower women entrepreneurs. The objective of the event, hosted on March 8th 2017 at Hyatt Regency Kolkata was to pave a path for women to be emotionally, financially and thought-wise independent.

W.I.N.E has been working in order to help girls in education and inspire women to empower themselves by inculcating courage and confidence so that they can be successful in their career and be a strong part of the society.

Eminent speakers like June Tomkyns, SP Bharti Ghosh and Priti Agarwal Sureka of the Emami Group were a part of this recent event conducted on International Women’s Day. The event aimed chiefly at networking and empowerment among the participating women. The event also unfolded the success stories of many successful yet unknown women entrepreneurs and offered a chance to make their wishes come true. Apart from these FAQs on start-ups, solutions on funding and the problems faced by women entrepreneurs were also discussed in the event.

According to event planner and entrepreneur Ruchi Saria, ‘WINE is the beginning of a change, a platform that would enable us to educate girls’.

This Women’s Day was not just about celebrating by receiving gifts and free coupons, but was about women’s empowerment and freedom from the shackles that once tied them down.
