The Indo-American Chamber of Commerce along with JIS University sponsored a well-curated evening by Rajlakshmi Syam, comprising of dance performances, piano recitals, singing and poetry recitation for an august audience at the ICCR on 13th March 2018.

The program started with a wonderful performance felicitating Lord Ganesh by Dia Ghosh who ably portrayed Ganesh through her dance and rhythmic movements.

This was followed by vocals from the Joint Police Commissioner, Sujoy Chanda, who was accompanied on the piano by Rajlakshmi. Mr. Chanda performed some favorite tunes by   Rabindranath Tagore’s and one could hear the audience accompanying him in delight. He then did a version of Auld Lang Syne in both English and Bengali which was a huge hit amongst the audience.

Subha Pal’s recitations with accompanying visuals all helped to enhance Rajlakshmi’s piano recital which bowled over the audience with her musical deftness. Rajlakshmi’s body movements at the piano evoked a musical sensuousness; her finely controlled touch on the key boards creating a polished and vibrant performance to the evening’s program.

All in all a very entertaining evening in An Ode to Spring.
