On National PR Day, the Public Relations Society of India, Kolkata Chapter, honored PR veteran, Rita Bhimani for completing 50 years in the profession of Public Relations. She initiated and handed over seven awards to PR toppers from different institutions at a function held at iLEAD a media institute helmed by Pradip Chopra. on 20 April.

Soumyajit Mahapatra, Chairman of PRSI Kolkata chapter gifted them Bhimani’s recent book PR 2020: the Trending Practice of Public Relations.

In her Valedictory Address which was titled Maximize to Minimize and Network your Net Worth, she urged students to go deeper into their research and their knowledge mining in order to be able to communicate with brevity, accuracy, clarity and credibility.

It was preceded by a hotly debated topic by students on Criminality being an Unavoidable ingredient of Political governance. In this context, Bhimani said: “Nation-building, at the moment, is at the heart of the greatest electoral show on earth. And for us professional communicators there are the issues that we face with the roadblocks of scams and corruption that come in the way of clean governance. Focused thinking, forming your own clear-cut opinions, and finding and funding new avenues of proactive creative thought and action are the need of the hour for young people.”
