Musical Duo and Senco Gold Bring Meaning to International Women’s Day
A most unusual approach as a prelude to International Women's Day happened on the 7th of March at ITC Sonar. Initiated by the musical duo of Soumyajit and Sourendro, and with Senco Gold and Diamonds as the presenters, the initiative was to salute courage. Not just in name, but by highlighting an acid attack survivor, and making a musical video in the presence of women of position from Calcutta.
Piyali, the acid attack survivor, who had gone through a massive surgery and has today been rehabilitated and rehabilitated to a near normal life, was present on the very moving occasion.
The song, which was specially composed and shot on her is being uploaded here as the hits on this video will fetch funding for thousands of such girls in need of restoration surgeries.
