Tehnaz Dastoor curated the “Ultimate Start-up Plan 2019” for the Bengal Institute of Business Studies’ (BIBS) MBA students. The event took place at Kalakunj on Saturday, March 16, 2019.
The competition began with over 40 Teams competing for 5 spots in the finals. The teams came up with business ideas such as Parenting Solution, School Admission platform, Multi lingual e readers etc.
The finale where the 5 finalists made presentations before a panel of eminent judges lasted for a couple of hours and the first prize was awarded to the team which presented the brilliant idea of utilizing Recreational Vehicles (RVs) for promoting tourism in Maharashtra.
The panel of judges involved eminent stalwarts from the business fraternity such as Mr. Apurva Salapuria, co-founder Kolkata Angels, Mr Biswadeep Das, Head Brandshoot ventures, Mr. Samir Batra, Director UD Marketing, Mr. Utkarsh Bansal, Director Utkarsh India, Mr. Vasant Subramanyam, National President Indo-American Chamber of Commerce and Mr. Viresh Oberoi, Founder and former CEO of mjunction and President TIE, Kolkata.
Speaking on this occasion Mr. Vidur Kapoor, Chairman, BIBS, said, “India is passing through a very challenging phase, both economically and socially. We need young entrepreneurs, who are confident of their abilities, have the flexibility to adapt to changing scenarios and the heart to take on the world.”
