The love and support from the city of joy has inspired the cozy and quirky café run by special needs individuals to expand. However, the expansion is not just limited to the physical cafe space. The menu’s got a makeover and a number of yummilicious additions!
Beat the scorching summer heat with their Vietnamese Coffee, Blueberry Italian Soda, Watermelon Feta Salad, and Chicken Vinaigrette Salad. Burger lovers can now rejoice as they’ve introduced a whole burger section and Maggi fans who dare should try the Spicy Schezwan Maggi. And for the adventurous foodie, Café ICanFlyy is the first to bring to Kolkata Cheese Tea.
ICanFlyy Launches Three New Programs
ICanFlyy, a vocational skill building institute for special needs children and adults, is introducing Early Intervention and Pre-vocational programs. For the past two years ICanFlyy has been successfully running a vocational program for special needs young adults aged 15+. The new sections will cater to special needs children between the ages of six and fourteen.
In a regular classroom environment, children learn at different rates, some slower than others due to learning difficulties. To help such school students with additional learning needs, ICanFlyy has also introduced a one-on-one Academic Assistance program.
State-Of-The-Art Multi-Sensory Room at Caring Minds
Especially designed for children, the new state-of-the-art multi-sensory room at Caring Minds is all set to serve the children of Kolkata. It comprises adjustable lights, tactile toys, cushions, and more. This gives them an opportunity to completely relax or access a wide range of sensory experiences for therapy, learning, or fun. The room also is used for specific work, such as a teaching tool for children with additional needs and special needs.
“The aim of this multi-sensory room is to ensure that the parents of Kolkata with young children do not have to run pillar to post to get access to excellent pediatric therapy,” said Minu Budhia, Founder and Director, Caring Minds. Pediatric and developmental physiotherapist Kazi Arafat Basir, will be at Caring Minds to exclusively treat infants and children with sensory motor difficulties. The room’s look and feel and the sensory equipment have been handpicked to create both stimulating and calming atmospheres, as necessary for treating both hypersensitivity and hyposensitivity.
Children with learning difficulties, behavioral issues, sensory impairments, physical and developmental delays benefit from such a set up. Multi-sensory rooms are also helpful for children who are on the autism spectrum. Sensory stimuli in a specialized environment helps develop multiple skills – sensory skills, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, communication skills, hand-eye coordination.
