Bacon Menu @ The Whistling Kettle
Salt cured pork, better known as Bacon is a much-loved accompaniment to continental dishes. Not only it adds to the crunch, but also enhances the dish flavor-wise. It is eaten on its own, as a side dish or used as a minor ingredient to flavor dishes.
The Whistling Kettle, the Darjeeling themed café of Kolkata always gives us big time hilly vibes. A hot cuppa of authentic Darjeeling tea with scrummy breakfast spread alike Keventers is an all-time favorite of Kolkata Palates. The 4th generation owner of Nathmull’s Tea, Darjeeling, Mr. Sailesh Sarda & Mrs. Bonisha Sharma Sarda initiated the journey of The Whistling Kettle, a year ago with a motto to indulge the Tea loving people of Kolkata to get acquainted with the endearing taste and exotic flavors of Darjeeling Teas along with their health benefits. They have always catered to Kolkata with scrumptious enticing spreads, but this time The Whistling Kettle is coming up with an entire menu around Bacon which consists of Bacon Burgers, Bacon Pops, Bacon Omelets, Rasher Mash (Crispy Bacon with Mash with Cheese Sauce/Onion Sauce), Loaded Bacon Potatoes, Bacon Pizza, Bacon Pasta, Bacon Lasagna and much more.
“We have always tried to offer something zesty and unconventional for Kolkata foodies. As we all know, bacon, the favored processed meat can figure in as a flavor booster, to anything like pizza, salad, starters whatever. Hence we thought − let’s curate an entire menu with this much-loved meat as Kolkata has always relished our every pork delicacy. We are sure, the introduction of this Bacon Menu will make everyone go gaga over this place,” told Sailesh, the mastermind behind the concept.
