Artsy. Coffee and Culture

The very new coffee place Artsy close to Minto Park is more than a coffee shop. Easy to find, open from 9am to 9pm the ambience and decor of the place adds to the charm of a cool hangout place.

While you select your choice of coffee from the list you are left with a wide choice – Piccolo Latte, a ristretto topped off with textured milk (priced at Rs100), Coffee Experimenter with three mini portions of Cold Brew, Espresso and Piccolo Latte (priced at Rs 300), French Press which is a course grind coffee brewed fresh (priced at Rs 120), Vietnamese styled iced coffee which is coffee poured over condensed milk and ice (priced at rs160) and many more.

You can also choose from shakes, iced teas and tea. “Our Iced Teas and Smoothies are freshly prepared and contain only natural ingredients” confidently says Manjyot Kaur, the Chief Coffee Enthusiast of Artsy. Adding to this Manjyot stated proudly that “We only source freshly roasted beans from the best. A medium dark Attikan Estate roasted by Blue Tokai for our espresso based drinks and Tat Tvam Asi Plantations Cherry Sun Ripe beans for our French Press. I was happy to find my favorite Kashmiri Kahwa included in the list of Teas served.

Artsy supports Indian farms and has partnered with brands that embody the true essence of ‘farm to table’.

Besides the beverages you can also try their Butter Chicken Panini, Mushroom Pate, Lemongrass Chicken Banh Mi, the different kinds of Salads, Sandwiches. I tasted some of the Asian Peanut Noodle salad and Crispy Chickpea and Quinoa Salad which I quite liked. The Spiced Yogurt Kebab Wrap, Bhetki Wrap, and Eggs & Olives On Toast should be interesting to try too. The sandwiches were priced in the range between Rs.195 and Rs.425.

The menu had an interesting DIY Panini with bread, protein, veggies and sauce according to your liking. You had the choice of also ordering small plates of Zucchini Pancakes (priced at Rs. 195), Avacado Toast (Priced at Rs. 250), Beer Batter Fish (Priced at Rs 435) or Pan-Roasted Chicken (Priced at Rs 296). That was a wide variety indeed.

If alone and you wished to read take your time and pull out one from the shelf and read at your own leisure choosing the suitable seating arrangement around. In fact there were books even for the young readers.

Artsy also promoted art and the work of the artist of the month was displayed all across one of the walls. The paintings added to the beauty of the place and if you liked any of them could buy them and take them home or to your office. This I thought was very encouraging for the artists.

There was also a small stage where musicians hold programs and there were many events hosted here to packed audiences. A poster close to the door announced the upcoming acoustic dance music on the 6th of October, Latcho Drom: A journey Through Gypsy Jazz w/ The Big Other.

Artsy was indeed a very vibrant and happening coolest place to be.
